SAPI (Social Activities and Practice Insititute)
SAPI is the umbrella organization of the international project Empowering child’s strengths for violence prevention – known in Slovenia as Stop the violence project (Stop nasilju). Eight different countries take part in the project, including Slovenia.
SAPI is a community of professionals, who offer help to children and families. They operate in the areas of children’s rights protection, intervention and rehabilitation after abuse, helping children without parents, and other family areas.
- They successfully combine theory and practice in their work.
- Based on scientific discoveries, new models of help are being developed to improve their quality, in order to provide assistance in a shorter time and more effectively.
- They are spreading their knowledge and skills to support professionals working with children and families.
SAPI runs and implements many international projects, training for professionals, cooperates with state and foreign institutions that work in the field of welfare services, and runs various campaigns against family violence and against violence against children. It is establishing residential communities and centers for helping families. Their work greatly influences the rising quality and progress in helping children and families at home and abroad.
